BCP Instruments announces the availability in France and Belgium of new Wellington Laboratories certified reference standards, designed to meet today’s analytical challenges related to per- and polyfluoroalkylated substances (PFAS), including ultra-shorts (TFA, PFPrA, PFMeS…) and FDA C-010.03-compliant mixtures. These new solutions meet growing demand from laboratories in charge of environmental, food and regulatory monitoring.
The ultra-shorts PFAS, one class emergent at behavior environmental singular.
13C2-TFA:
Mass-labelled (¹³C₂) trifluoroacetic acid
Ultra-short chain (USC) PFAS, in particular trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), perfluoropropanoic acid (PFPrA), and C1-C3 perfluoroalkylsulfonates (PFMeS, PFEtS, L-PFPrS), are attracting growing scientific interest. Due to their low molecular weight, high polarity, and excellent water solubility, these compounds migrate rapidly in the environment and often escape conventional chromatographic retention methods.
To address these challenges:
- M2TFA, TFA labelled with ¹³C₂, is now available as a certified standard, with chemical purity ≥ 98% and isotopic purity ≥ 99%, enabling accurate quantification even at very low levels.
- Other native standards complete this range: PFPrA, PFMeS, PFEtS, L-PFPrS, all in 50 µg/mL methanolic solution, specially designed for sensitive LC-MS/MS or HILIC methods.
These solutions enable robust detection of PFAS in wastewater, complex matrices, natural environments, and even food products at very low concentrations.

Method FDA C-010.03 – ready-to-use mixtures for the analysis of 30 PFAS in food and feed
The latest FDA C-010.03 method update (2024) extended the scope of the analysis to 30 PFAS, now applicable to a wide variety of matrices: bread, salmon, lettuce, silage, etc.
Three new mixtures have been developed specifically for this method:
FDA-30MX:
Complete native mixture
Contains all of the 30 analytes native listed in the FDA method, at 1000 ng/mL, which eliminates the initial dilution recommended in the protocol. Ideal for the preparation of calibration curves and intra-laboratory validation tests.
FDA-12MPFAS:
Mass-labelled mixture
Compound of 12 PFAS labelled (perfluorocarboxylic acids and sulfonates labelled with ¹³C₂, ¹³C₃, ¹³C₅ or ¹³C₈), this mixture is recommended for the preparation of a18> substitution solutions and analytical tips.
M2FTS-MXA:
Mass-labelled fluorotelomer sulfonates
Includes the ¹³C₂ analogues of 4:2FTS, 6:2FTS, 8:2FTS and 10:2FTS, allowing the completion of the isotopic range in connection with the FDA method but a13> also applicable in other methodologies regulatory (EPA 533, ISO/DIS 21675, etc.).
In addition, the certified solution of d5-N-EtFOSAA, at 50 µg/mL, is also available for the preparation of the internal specific solution for the method.
