Type of mix

EPA-533ES is a Primary Dilution Standard (PDS) containing stable isotopic compounds labelled with carbon 13 (13C). It is used as an internal standard for LC-MS/MS analyses in accordance with the requirements of EPA method 533.

Composition

Contains 16 isotopically labelled compounds, selected to correspond directly to the native analytes targeted by EPA method 533. These compounds include 9 labelled perfluorocarboxylic acids (PFCAs) (PFBA, PFPeA, PFHxA and PFOA), 3 labelled perfluorosulphonic acids (PFSAs) (PFBS, PFHxS, and PFOS), 3 labelled sulphonated fluorotelomers (FTS) (4:2, 6:2 and 8:2) and 1 labelled hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid (GenX) (HFPO-DA).

Developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), this method is based on liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
